The Jackson Law Firm is authorized to handle real estate closings on HUD homes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and surrounding parts of Texas. We are the Certified Closing Agent for the United State Department of Housing and Urban Development.
As part of the HUD closing process, our attorneys help perform tasks such as the title search, deed preparation, real estate contract drafting and the settlement transaction.
Real Estate Closings Involving HUD Homes
Our goal is to make this process as smooth as possible. Closings typically take place less than 60 days after your contract has been properly completed. Cash purchases must close within 30 days from contract acceptance date. Financed purchases must close within 45 days, with the exception of FHA 203(k) loans, which allow 60 days.
If necessary, we are able to assist with requests for extensions to allow more time. These are available only in very specific situations.
HUD real estate closings generally take place at the offices of our law firm. From the start of the process, our lawyers will be available to answer any questions you have. We will stand by your side until you have secured your home.
Working With Lenders
As certified HUD closing agents, we must comply with certain requirements. At times, these can interfere with the closing requirements of lenders. We encourage lenders to get in touch with us as soon as possible to find out if we can meet your loan closing requirements. If not, we can work with the purchaser to find alternate arrangements.
